Ørsted and Eversource partner Connecticut Port Authority moves forward with RFQ for State Pier Construction Manager

The offshore wind industry is continuing to make great strides in Connecticut, including the work from Ørsted and Eversource partner the Connecticut Port Authority (CPA). Last week, the CPA issued an RFQ for a Construction Manager to oversee the transformation of State Pier into a world-class offshore wind hub. Details on the RFQ can be found here: https://ctportauthority.com/rfqs-rfps-3/

The State Pier redevelopment project continues to move ahead on schedule. Following the completion of the infrastructure upgrade project in August 2022, State Pier will be a modern, heavy-lift capable port that meets the facility requirements of the offshore industry. Ørsted and Eversource will use State Pier for its Revolution Wind, Sunrise Wind, and South Fork Wind projects – more than 1,700 megawatts total of clean, offshore wind power including 304 megawatts coming to Connecticut through Revolution Wind. More than 400 jobs will be created during the construction phase of the project, which is slated to begin in early 2021. As Connecticut’s partner in finding a solution to climate change, Ørsted and Eversource look forward to bringing a new industry to the state that will support its clean energy transformation and environmental goals while also driving economic activity and job creation.
